Phillip Castaneda is a level 4 certified (Supervisor) pastoral counselor with Salem ICI (see certification levels here). Salem ICI is a national pastoral and clinical counselor training organization that provides certification in the MIM. Phillip is on the Executive Team of Salem ICI serving in the role of Operations, Business Development, Finance, Strategic Planning, and is also a Supervisor serving other pastoral counselors.

Phillip has a Bachelors in Arts with focus in Pastoral Ministries from Western Baptist College (now Corban University), and an Executive MBA from the University of Houston. He is a Supervisor (Level 4) certified Pastoral Counselor with Salem ICI, and has been practicing pastoral psychotherapy with a somatic focus for over 4 years.

Phillip wishes he had been a pro boxer, but alas that did not happen. He has had the privilege of training at Al Garza Martial Arts in League City, TX, with Quandray “Q” (Candy) Johnson – a former pro boxer – at the KROC center in Salem Oregon. He has also learned from other professionals, amateurs, and like minded boxing fans. As he says: “In our gym we do boxing. We are NOT training boxers, but doing therapy in the context of somatic work. Boxing is central, but we sometimes just work out, walk, but whatever the modality is, it’s all about integrating the body and mind in Jesus name. He is the author and creator of our bodies, our neurology, our living histories, and we do all things to honor Him and for His glory.

Our gyms serves as a place where body, soul, mind, & spirit come alive to Christ in 1:1 session or in a community of brothers and sisters doing live together.
